How We Collect Text-Message Consent
Utah Veterans Massage sends appointment reminder and scheduling text messages only to clients who have opted in. Consent is collected in two ways:
1. Verbal opt-in at booking
When a veteran books by phone or in person, our scheduling staff read this script:
“Would you like to receive appointment reminder and scheduling text messages from Utah Veterans Massage at this number? Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply HELP for help or STOP at any time to opt out.”
The client’s yes-or-no answer is recorded with date and time on their client profile in our scheduling system (Jane). Clients who decline still receive full services and are contacted by phone or email instead — consent is never a condition of service.
2. Written opt-in on our intake form
Every new client completes our intake form in Jane (our scheduling and records system), which presents the opt-in consent below. Nothing is pre-selected — the client must actively choose “I agree.” A client who chooses “I don’t agree” still receives full services; consent to text messaging is never a condition of care.
Text Message & Email Communication
Utah Veterans Massage can send you appointment reminders, scheduling confirmations, and replies to your questions by text message and email at the phone number and email address you provide. This is optional — if you’d rather not receive texts, you’ll still be booked and reminded by phone or email instead. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving services. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of texts, or HELP for help.
